LAMINATION BY ADHESIVES

This is the leader type of process in lamination because of its extensive application and the large number of possible combination arrangements.

Laminations can be performed with watery adhesives that can be of the following types: Sodium silicate derivatives; acrylics and poly-acrylics; latex; emulsions; EVA, and emulsion polyurethanes.

Depending on the type of watery adhesive used, there can be several variations in the form of application and drying, and also variations in characteristics, benefits, advantages and disadvantages.

The most universally employed lamination adhesives are polyurethane adhesives of the following types: solvent-including: solvent-free; one-component, and two-components. After profound research of all available resins, the conclusion reached was that polyurethane offers the best performance and lamination over the largest quantity of combinations.
